A short insight into a past seminar
SEMINAR BRONZE: Production of one bronze bell per group
Experience the creation of a real cowbell live in the bell foundry’s studio. Decorate your personal team bell according to your wishes and find out the secret of how something new is created out of sand, metal, 1,100 degrees and lots of experience. Of course, you will receive your own bell at the end of the seminar and take it home with you.
Time required: approx. 2 1/2 hours
Group size: Flexible, from one person up to a maximum of 35 people
Starting times Monday to Friday: approx. 9 a.m. and approx. 1 p.m.
Starting times Saturday: approx. 09:00 a.m.
SEMINAR SILVER: Production of one bronze bell per group, including casting yourself
As in the bronze seminar, experience the creation of a cowbell live. Experience the absolute highlight up close: Pour 1,100 degrees hot bronze into the sand mold yourself. Perfect if you bring someone with you in the group, such as retirees, birthday children, wedding couples, examiners, etc.
Protective clothing and a brief introduction to the secret of correct casting by an experienced caster are included in the surcharge.
Time required: approx. 2 1/2 hours
Group size: Flexible, from one person up to a maximum of 35 people

Bell size: Berger bell No. 20 H, approx. 20 cm in diameter
SEMINAR GOLD: Decorate and pour a prefabricated sand mold yourself
Experience the creation of a hand-made sand mold live with your own eyes and learn more about the age-old family secret of making cowbells. Decorate the ready-made cow bells with your own hands under expert guidance, alone or in pairs. You will be surprised what is needed to make the bell. After the bell shape has been settled and hardened, the next step is serious: You cast your decorated bell yourself and create a new bell from air and liquid metal. Let this cool down briefly and then start finishing. After all these steps, your ears will hear the sound of a cowbell you made for the first time. Just great!
Time required: approx. 3 to 4 hours
Group size: flexible, from one person up to a maximum of 20 people

SEMINAR PLATINUM: You make your personal cowbell yourself
Now it’s up to you: You get a mold made of steel, sand and a master model of a cowbell. Make the sand mold with your own hands using expert instructions and decorate the bell shape with stamps, some of which are over 200 years old. Experience tradition and a family secret first hand and experience the elaborate manufacturing process of original Berger cowbells first hand.
1,100 degrees hot bronze and you! Pour the molten metal into the bell shape yourself with a real casting ladle. A hot business! Let the mold cool down briefly and start finishing. Experience the first sound for yourself when you strike your personal bell for the first time. A very special and emotional moment. You almost got it.
What is a bell without a strap? Exactly, only halfway complete. You will receive an original Appenzeller strap for the bell.

General information about the seminars
ATTENTION: RESERVATION ALWAYS REQUIRED!
Appropriate clothing is required for casting the bell. Long pants and long-sleeved sweaters are necessary due to the heat of 1,100 degrees. To ensure safety when pouring, closed shoes are mandatory.
Appropriate protective clothing (cast gloves, casting gaiters, protective goggles and aprons) is of course provided. For insurance reasons, casting the bells is unfortunately only permitted for participants aged 16 and over.
Please note that the seminar costs must be paid in full before the start. Otherwise the bell seminar cannot be held.
Cancellation of the seminar is free of charge up to five days before the seminar. Thereafter, a contribution towards expenses of CHF 60.00 will be charged.
